When geek worlds collide! Alice Krige (the Borg Queen from Star Trek: First Contact) has joined the cast of Thor: The Dark World as Alfyse, Queen of the Dark Elves according to Digital Spy.
Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who) recently joined as Malekith, King of the Dark Elves. Thor: The Dark World opens November 2013.

Malekith the Accursed rules Svartalfheim, one of the Nine Realms. When I first saw Krige was joined I immediately thought of Hela, Goddess of Death, but Krige brings regal evil to any role she plays. I loved Krige as Lady Jessica in Children of Dune the Sci-Fi Channel mini-series.
