A new spot for Man of Steel showing Jor-El (Russell Crowe) advising his son (Henry Cavill) to learn his potential by “keep testing your limits.”

From this new Warner Brothers teaser it appears that Zod and Jor-El clashed on Krypton and Superman’s father can appear and advise his son via an intuitive program that makes it appear that Jor-El is alive. But enough about those theories, check out the action:

Man of Steel arrives June 14th.

Scott Snyder unleashed the Court of Owls then the Joker at Batman since The New 52 relaunch. Snyder is teaming up with Jim Lee to launch Superman Unchained. Given Snyder’s track record with Batman and Swamp Thing how darker will this Superman book be? He’s what Snyder told Comic Book Resources:

“I really like stories where characters are challenged by their worst fears. Superman is facing someone new and it’s going to shake him. It’s not horror, and there’s humor between the characters, but it’s definitely about dealing with something that frightens him. This is basically the Superman story I would tell if I could only do one. It’s got the full cast and Lex Luthor, but also new Continue reading

Lois Lane is swept off her feet! Superman doesn’t appear to be taking Lois (Amy Adams) on a slow, romantic flight like in previous films. Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is blasting into action, fighting in mid-air with Zod (Michael Shannon) and rushing to Lois’s rescue.

Take a look at Warner Brothers’ latest spot for Man of Steel:

MAN OF STEEL Not A Perfect Hero

Truth, justice and the American way!

That’s what comes to mind when you think of Superman. After the box-office dominance of The Dark Knight and other morally challenged heroes are audiences ready for a return to the wholesome, earnest hero like the DC Comics icon?

In a new interview with Hero Complex, Man of Steel creators say don’t expect perfection from the new Superman played by Henry Cavill.

“He’s not super-perfect, and he might not always make the right decision, especially as he’s growing up and trying to find himself,” said producer (and director Zack Snyder’s wife) Debbie Snyder. “I think he’s struggling to find out what is the right thing to do.”

“We tried not to make him so predictably morally black and white,” Zack Snyder adds “We gave him some shades of gray. His inherent goodness is still there, and if you really think about it, you still want him to be right and to make the right choices and to do the right thing. I think that we all hope for that in ourselves, and I think that’s what always has made him a very interesting character. He’s a Christlike figure. There’s no two ways about it.”

Cyborg Superman Returns

DC Comics is teasing the return of the Cyborg Superman with this stunning portrait by current Superman artist Kenneth Rocafort and the coy words of Editor Bob Harras:

“Some of you might remember the last time a Cyborg Superman showed up. Would we dare revisit such a classic storyline? Hmmm. Well, never say never, right? As I’ve been telling you, all bets are off. Everything’s on the table.

Sorry to make your head explode on a Friday, but enjoy Kenneth Rocafort’s lovely sketch in the meantime. We’ll be in the conference room discussing … oh, never mind.”

Hank Henshaw was an astronaut damaged by radiation on a mission and downloaded into a cyborg body – all were projects and products of Lexcorp!

After the apparent Death of Superman Continue reading
