X-Geeks rejoice! Fox confirms that Matthew Vaughn is confirmed to direct a sequel to X-Men: First Class according to Deadline. Bryan Singer is once again producing. Simon Kinberg was previously reported to be working on the script.
So what the story? Cinema Blend reports that Vaughn may kick off the film with the assassination of President Kennedy. The creators weaved the fictional meeting of Charles Xavier, Magneto and the formation of the X-Men amid the Cuban Missile Crisis.

I hope the new film might introduce some of Magneto’s children: Polaris, Scarlet Witch or Quicksilver. Polaris is the green haired mistress of magnetism and girlfriend of Havok (played by Lucas Till in the first film.) Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were part of Magneto’s Brotherhood but reformed and became Avengers. I always thought space race would be a great historical element to thread into the next back story chapter of the X-Men.
