James Bond has two leading ladies in his latest adventure but the most intriguing triangle in the film is 007, M and the villain. Javier Bardem joins the sinister fraternity of James Bond villains in Skyfall. The actor tells Flicks and Bits why he was attracted to the role of Silva and the character’s back story with M (Dame Judi Dench) and MI6.

“Skyfall has a lot of depth, because of the story of M and the relationship with her and Daniel Craig’s James Bond. And also the entrance of this other man who really was, in one way, in love with her,” Bardem said.

“But he now feels deeply betrayed by her. So there’s this triangle in the film that really works on an emotional level.”

Bardem revealed there’s a scene in which Silva becomes physical with M, saying that Dench’s relaxation helped his performance.

“I had the chance to work very close to Judi, and I was afraid because there’s some physicality in that scene, I didn’t want to hurt her. But she was such a delight to work with.

“She was there, just her looking at your eyes, being as relaxed as she is as an actress, it gives you so much.”

The big question still out there? What’s up with that hair style and color?

 Skyfall opens November 9
