I’m a huge Kieron Gillen fan. The writer’s final issues of Uncanny X-Men and Journey Into Mystery are out. Gillen will relaunch Iron Man and Young Avengers in the Marvel Now. Hollywood stars are fans too!
Tom Hiddleston who played Loki in Thor and The Avengers on the big screen praised how Gillen portrayed Loki in Journey Into Mystery. Here’s part of the actor’s letter:
“You and I see Loki the same way. He’s one dark, anarchic, bottomless black hole of rage, hatred, pity and pain,” Hiddleston wrote.
”An exiled outcast, a lost and lonely agent of chaos, who wouldn’t know what to do with familial forgiveness if it walked up to him in the street and slapped him in the face.
“I’ve had as much fun playing him as you’ve clearly had writing up. I know your run on Journey Into Mystery has been so hugely popular. What an enormous honor to share Loki’s legacy with you. Here’s to bringing Norse back.”
This week’s Journey Into Mystery #654 was Gillen’s final issue. Kathryn Immonen takes over and Lady Sif will be the star.
Gillen will join artist Jamie McKelvie on a new Young Avengers series starring Loki. The trickster God will help assemble a new team of young heroes.
