Director Christopher Nolan is leaving Batman behind after The Dark Knight Rises but says Anne Hathaway “deserves” the opportunity to star in a in a Catwoman film based on her performance in the final Batman movie.
Nolan tells Access Hollywood: “Anne is incredibly precise and articulate about the psychology of the character. She’s really built it from the ground up, it’s just a delight to watch her perform, the things she does in those heels is not to be taken lightly.”
When asked if Hathaway’s thief Selina Kyle should be given her own movie, Nolan added: “I certainly think she deserves it, she’s incredible.”
Hopefully that means Selena (who is never called Catwoman in the film) will survive and live happily ever after with Bruce – let’s not bet on that.
The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20.
